He has won five elections-four city wide and the last election was for District 3. Director Herring was chair of the council`s Finance Committee for 18 years, in addition to being the Council President for one term. He has been active as a board member/officer in 40 or more civic, commercial, public and charitable organizations. Director Herring was also the Chairman of The Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee for more than 25 years. |

She serves on various civic and business boards including the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, the Freshwater Land Trust, Brookwood Hospital, and the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. Director Florie also serves on the Jefferson County Personnel Board, as well as the Executive Committee and Board of the Birmingham Business Alliance. |
